Biography
Abdulkadir Bedirli was born in Düzce in 1965. He graduated from Kabataş High School for Boys in 1981 and from Istanbul Medical Faculty in 1988 . He completed his specialization training in Erciyes University General Surgery Department between 1992-1997 and became a General Surgery specialist. Bedirli, who became an Associate Professor at Gazi University, Department of General Surgery in 2005, received the title of Professor at Gazi University in 2010. Between 2008-2011, he worked as Deputy Chief Physician and operating room coordinator at Gazi University Hospital.
In 2010, he took part as the coordinator in the establishment of Gazi University Laparoscopic Surgery Center and became the founding director of the Center in 2011. During this time, he completed the program in Elancourt, France and received an instructor certificate.
Dr. Bedirli completed the Robotic Surgery certification program in Strasbourg in 2011 and became a console surgeon. Then, he performed his first robotic surgery at Gazi University General Surgery Clinic in 2011.
Since then, he has successfully applied robotic surgery to more than 1000 patients, mainly due to obesity, stomach cancer and colon-rectum cancers.
Having received the title of Surgical Oncology Specialist in 2012, Dr. Bedirli attended trainings on Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery in Paris-France in 2014 and in Lyon-France in 2016. Having completed the Gastric Cancer Master Class program at Severance Hospital in Seoul, South Korea in 2018, Dr. Bedirli attended Bariatric Redo Surgery training in Bruges-Belgium in 2019.
Granted the FACS title by the American College of Surgeon in 2018, Dr. Bedirli has 52 international publications, 47 domestic publications, 78 papers presented at international congresses, 68 papers presented at national congresses, 5 book chapters and a book editorship. With 1064 Citations in 72 publications, Dr. Bedirli's H-Index is 18.
Dr. Badrli is married and has two children.
